Didsbury Town Centre

1. Read the description of Didsbury and complete the map with the names of the places.

There is a large hospital in the north-west of the town. It is on North Road, near West Drive.

The medical centre is on North Road, near the river. The dental centre is smaller than the medical centre, but just next to it.

There is a big town hall near the river, on the corner of River Way and River Avenue.

There is a school on River Way, near the park. It is a large public building. It has an exit on Broadway Street.

There is a park called King’s Park, between Broadway Street and River Avenue.
The park on Mount Street and Central Avenue is Queen’s Park. The river goes through it.

The Brown family live in a house on Central Avenue, opposite the river.
The Black family live next to the Browns’ house, on South Road.
The Smith family live opposite the Browns and the Blacks, and opposite Queen’s Park. It is a quiet residential area.

There is a post office on Broadway Street, near Central Avenue. It is a medium-size public building opposite a park.

There is a library near the town centre, on River Avenue, near Central Avenue, and next to the river.

There is a Tesco supermarket on the corner of West Drive and South Road. It is a large modern building, opposite a square.

There is a fire station on Mount Street, near the river.

There are three residential buildings on West Drive, in the south of the town: Hillside, Jollyside and Sunside.
Sunside is on South Road. Jollyside is between Hillside and Sunside.

There is a police station on the corner of Home Street and River Way.

Pretty Square is between River Avenue and Broadway Street, near the river.

2. Creative activity

There is also a bookshop, a pet shop, a baker, a restaurant and a café.

Place them on your map. (Your decision!) and write a short description of where each shop is.
